Peppermint Essential Oil

INCI Name: Mentha Piperita

What is it: Peppermint oil is the essential oil taken from the flowering parts and leaves of the peppermint plant. (Essential oils are very concentrated oils containing substances that give a plant its characteristic odor or flavor.)

Usage rate: 0.1 - 1% of the oils

Uses: Peppermint Essential Oil is know for its cooling and calming affects, especially on sore, tired and aching muscles. 

It gives an instant 'lift' to an Essential Oil blend whether it is used in handmade soap or room-spray. Peppermint Essential Oil has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties and is popular in scalp and hair care.
